THERE IS NO OFF SEASON FOR THESE COLLEGE FOOTBALL MOMS
Game Day Ready Edition
"Keeping up with The Real Life of a College Football Mom"
IT'S ABOUT TO GO DOWN!
Down, Down, Down with the weight that is! These moms have clearly adapted the mentality of "Training Camp" getting focused, stepping up their game and making it happen! The making of a champion comes from the mentality of his mother. Let's take a look into the lives of a few CFM that are setting the example of what " NO OFF Season" really means. If they don't inspire you to get off the couch and "Get up and GO IT GIRL" I don't know what will.
Apryll Adams ( Josh Adams #33- Notre Dame)- 95 lbs.
"IT WAS TIME FOR A CHANGE"- Apryll sat in the car with me 3 years ago while we both waited for our sons to finish with orientation their freshman year that it was time for a change. I decided that day to get focused and that I would be finding a "New Life" for me and being happy with the person I looked at in the mirror as well as the person on the inside. I wanted to be healthy, travel and have fun with my children and my friends. I knew that to experience the life I wanted it was time for a change.
HER ADVICE TO OTHER WOMEN- Find your "WHY"and learn to LOVE YOURSELF, I mean FOR REAL LOVE YOURSELF. You are well worth it! When you love somebody, you want to give your best and be your best so why not do all of that for yourself? I had to learn to love myself, cheer lead for myself, appreciate myself, and LIVE for myself. It was just time.
Zenaida Wellington- ( Nathaniel "Papa" Wellington #72- Georgia Military College)- 120 lbs.
"I DECIDED TO TAKE CONTROL"- I gave birth to 5 kids in 7 years and lost myself in the process. I found myself weighing 285 lbs and getting sicker not only physically but mentally. I spent years hating myself, and putting everyone before myself and then I realized not only was I suffering but everyone in the house was suffering. After being diagnosed with high blood pressure, diabetes, sleep apnea and a host of other things I wanted plastic surgery. That's when the surgeon told me I needed weight loss surgery. I cried and was devastated. Doing it the traditional way didn't work so I knew I had to do something. I was approved after being denied several times so if you are like me I say to you don't give up. It's been 4 years and I live everyday grateful on how this new weight loss journey has not only changed me physically, but spiritually and emotionally. I still deal with insecurities and self- esteem issues but you can't wish away 40 years of abuse in 4 years.
HER ADVICE TO OTHER WOMEN- Always drink a glass of water when you wake up, wait 30 minutes to drink after a meal, and eat your protein first, veggies and then carbs. It's ok to treat yourself every once in a while. A little weight gain doesn't mean you have failed because we all plateau just get back on top of your game.
Tabitha Sanders- ( Deon "Primetime Sanders"#24- Furman University)- 56 lbs.
"I STRUGGLE TO LOSE WEIGHT"- I
have put on 36 lbs. with another health scare with Lupus, my body went
into septic shock and now I have a new diagnosis of type 2 diabetes. Oh
and let's not add full blown menopause all at the age of 39! I started
this journey in 2012. Anyone, who knows me knows that losing weight is a
struggle for me but I am determined to stay on this journey. My end
goal is to help other women that struggle like me.
HER ADVICE TO OTHER WOMEN- Set
small goals for yourself and do not include the scale. No one else is
your competition, have patience and trust the process. Today, I am proud
of myself because I have been eating clean, drinking more water,
getting 8 hours of sleep and training dirty in the gym. I hit my first
goal a week early! Whoop, Whoop!
Jackee Wade- ( Darius Wade #4- Boston College)- 62 lbs.
"I USED A FACEBOOK PROGRAM"- It
took me 10 months to lose the weight using an on line Face Book Program
called GFWL- Get Fit With Lucky( Lucky Miller Jr.). It included no
shakes, eating the right foods, drinking the proper amount of water and
exercising.
HER ADVICE TO OTHER WOMEN- If you are going to decide to join a group or a program to be successful you must have communication and participation.
"I JUMP STARTED MY WEIGHT LOSS WITH DIETING"- I have lost almost 50 pounds since the end of May. I have only been dieting so far. When I hit 50 lbs loss which is hopefully this week I am going to add exercise. I still have another 20 lbs I would like to lose.
HER ADVICE TO OTHER WOMEN- You have to want to do it first for yourself not for anyone else. On your time when you are ready and you know that you are doing it first and foremost for yourself. It's hard work but you are worth every bit of it.

Tracy Tiassum Clemmons- ( Brandon Tiassum #77- University of Notre Dame)- 50 lbs.
"WITH CHRIST ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE"- I started this journey in January and the one thing that has gotten me through the tough times has been hard work and a changed mind. God said I can do all things through Him! That is where I focus all my attention. Christ the Solid Rock I stand all other ground is sinking sand.
HER ADVICE TO OTHER WOMEN- It's not easy by any means and whatever you do for 30 days straight become a habit. Do not give up because perseverance is the key to success.
Ria Adderley- ( Nasir Adderley #23- Unversity of Delaware)- 50 lbs.
" I STARTED CRAVING EXERCISE EVERYDAY"- I started this fitness journey May 25, 2017. I gained so much weight after a car accident, back to back surgeries and taking steroids. It added on so much weight. I first began to just eat better and not eating anything with a mother. I worked out 30 minutes 3x a week. Then I started craving exercise everyday. I am totally addicted now. I work out daily to be healthy and fit for my children. I want to be there for them as long as possible.
HER ADVICE TO OTHER WOMEN- Water, water, water and some type of movement daily at least for 30 minutes. Eat as clean as possible and that way when you want the occasional junk it's not so bad.
Dayna Hentz- ( Jayson Williams #14- Eastern Washington Eagles)- 52 lbs.
"CAN'T STOP, WON'T STOP"- I started working out June 2017. I was 265 on the right and on the left I am 213. I have loss a total of 52 lbs. but my goal is to get to 195 lbs. I work out 4 x a week, and watch what I eat and absolutely no fast food.
HER ADVICE FOR OTHER WOMEN- To keep pushing themselves and to work hard.
SPOTLIGHT PLAYER OF THE WEEK- SHAUN "PLAYMAKER" CRAWFORD
" From Devastation to Determination"
Shaun Crawford was one of the highest rated prospects in the class of 2015 with hopes of being able to start. I remember CJ telling me everyday they would step up to compete against each other in practice to make each other better because they both dreamed of being freshman starters. This was for sure the path he was on starting at nickel before landing awkwardly defending a pass in practice and tearing his ACL. Where Shaun landed was in the hospital disappointed that his season would come to an end. This is the first time he has ever been injured and would miss a game let a lone a whole season.

After rehabbing and having a great training camp Shaun gets the start he always dreamed of. He has a first game and he is excited to be back and balls out recovering a blocked kicked and running it all the way back. It's the second game of the season and in the 1st quarter he tried to stop his run to make a play and tears his Achillies. Devastated is not the word. I remember leaving out of the game to find his mother Sabrina and we stand there crying in disbelief that once again he is injured. Right, I know you are thinking, two years in a row! Wow... But we all know with the faith of a mustard seed what God will do when you have nothing left but to trust him. Through the recovery process, Shaun begins to not only work on his strength of his body like never before he also strengthens his faith and gets baptized.
I had to share this story because I have seen the whole transformation the last two years and have been so honored to witnessed the GLORY of our GOD. Someone reading this story has also had bad news after bad news or challenges after challenges and you too like Shaun had dark days and wanted to give up. I share this story so that you too can turn your Devastation into Determination to fulfill the life you always dreamed of.
Fast forward to my boy Shaun back for his 3rd year and being able to be the recipient of God using him to Shine and get the Glory. God knows who to choose so don't snooze on being chosen. This past weekend he received the Game ball. Below he is pictured with his mother Sabrina Crawford and as you can see they are all smiles. Check out his stats for the season and a GREAT ARTICLE that really shows you why they call him Shaun "Playmaker" Crawford. So don't feel sorry for yourself, dig in, go hard, trust God and do what is necessary to live the dream you always had in the very beginning.

STATS FOR THE SEASON:
- 7 tackles
- 2 interceptions
- 2 break ups
- 4 passes defended
- 2 fumble recoveries
- 1 forced fumble
- Cheryl Fox- Miles Fox #11/ DT- Old Dominion): I'd play DT like Miles.. I'm Strong and can clog up the middle and stop the run! (I believe it Cheryl I want you on my team!)
- Vanessa Johnson- Jojo Johnson #50 / LB- Tennessee State University- I would be the kicker so I wouldn't have contact. (You have to know Vanessa, she is the sweetest thing so yes she would be the kicker or the equipment manager. She is good at organizing!)
- Kimburly Burks- Chandler Burks #3/ QB- Kennesaw State University- When the kids were young the moms played flag football at the park and I played QB, RB because I am fast. I ran track and played basketball in high school and even went to state in track! ( Love me some Kim such a #3 Mom answer! He got it from his mama!)
- Heather Wimbush- Brandon Wimbush #7/ QB- Notre Dame- I would be the kicker because I would get to play the game without constant and imminent threat of injury. (Spoken like a true quarterback mom whose son has wheels and she cringes on every play.)
- Brandee Guyton- Jalen Guyton #9/ WR- University North Texas - I would be a WR like my boy because you can catch the ball and score! (Yep Brandee That's my girl! I am all about the score too! I am throwing the ball your way every time! I know where Jay gets his hands from mama!)
- Kenyah Fernandez- Jerod Fernandez #4/ Linebacker- NC State- Kicker! You only have one job at kicker. You don't have to tackle, block, run routes or remember plays. All you do is KICK! Oh and your uniform can stay nice and clean! ( When Kenyah told me this I died laughing. Her son is HUGE and is a line backer! I can see her now the bigger he got the more she knew her dreams of being the kicker's mom and chilling were OVER!)
- Rachel Lovingood- Riley Lovingood #46/ Long Snapper- University of Tennessee- I would be a linebacker so I could hit people! (Now Rachel is in the ministry and her son is a Long Snapper.. She wants some action! She said probably from all those years of being in the ministry! Ha I'm drafting her all day on my team! )
- Nina Howard- Theo Howard #14/ WR- UCLA- I would play WR because I feel those polished routes, super extended vertical catches and one handed grabs are some of the most beautiful plays. It often reminds me of ballet. I call it poetry in motion. (First of all I see her saying this and visualizing Theo doing all the polished routes and acrobatic catches. HA.. Also you have to know Nina she was a model for years! So she is use to walking and being poetry in motion! Perfect analogy Nina!)
- Stacie McCall Harris (ME)- CJ Sanders #3/ KR, PR, WR- Notre Dame- Number 3 moms are special if you didn't know that. lol We kind of want to do it all and we think we can! lol.. I would be a QB because I played point guard from 4th grade through college. I like to run the show baby! Show me the money! I also and ran track. Like my other CFM #3 Mom Kim, I also went to State all 4 years and we won 2 years so I kind of have wheels too. Again, I told you we are special.. Lol. So if your son is number 3 I know you are "Special" too. Leave us a comment all you #3 Moms! Really, all moms are special and unique in their own way so leave us a comment! We love all of our moms and would love feedback.
